Across The Bridge

Brooklyn Bridge, New York

Despite bringing my tripod to New York, I left it untouched for the first two days of the trip.  It was a combination of forgetting and reluctance to lug it around, considering all the walking that we would be doing.  Finally, in our third and last day, I made the decision to catch the sunrise by the Brooklyn Bridge.  It of course meant waking up at 5 something in the morning (during vacation), but I knew I would regret it if I didn’t go.

And it certainly did not disappoint.  I was able to take some pretty fascinating photographs.  The fact that it was not crowded also helped me to frame the shots.  The trickiest part though is managing the shakes and vibrations on the bridge.

This is one of the first shots I took.  Many more to come.

The Sky Is The Limit

Taken in front of the Trump Tower.  Almost got run over by a Bentley in the process.

Down The Corridor

This was one of those few instances where I immediately knew this would make a fascinating photo when I first saw the scene.  I thought turning it into black & white while enhancing the contrast would make it look more striking.

Crossing The Bridge

We were blessed with some gorgeous spring weather last week, where temperatures went up into the 70s and 80s.  Over the weekend, we took our son to Naperville downtown.  The sun was shining, and as we walked through one of the wooden bridges there, I figured that a wide angle shot might look interesting.  Key though was to make sure no one was in my frame, so I patiently waited for the right moment.
