Let The Light Shine Through
On the last Friday before I started my new job, I decided to take a trip by myself to the Milwaukee Art Museum. I can’t remember the last time I went to an art museum without having to rush through the galleries in order to attend to my young son. It was definitely a highly enjoyable experience, browsing through great works of art and admiring the wonderful architecture.
I only wish it housed more pieces of art. Then again, I’ve been spoiled by the Chicago Art Institute’s collection.

Rising From The Shadows
Not in a twisted, malevolent sense. I was surprised to find these columbines growing under one of my pine trees. Had I not seen the pretty flowers, I would have mistaken them for another unwanted weed that I need to remove. For now, they can safely live under the shadow and protection of the giant pine tree.

Unspoken Words
Taken in one of the flower gardens at the Morton Arboretum. Next time if I go during the summer, I need to remind myself to avoid going any time around noon. Or I should say any time before late afternoon.
This capture was tricky to process, because the highlights were way overblown. I had to try to tone it down, and bring out the details. Thank goodness for gradient layers in Lightroom!

At Last
This past weekend I went to the Morton Arboretum with a friend and my toddler son. Got to admit that it was not the best day to visit, as temperatures hit the 90s, making the hikes difficult at times. My son did seem to enjoy his wagon ride though, and I made sure he was well hydrated.
I spotted this little flower along one of the paths. Did not think much about the shot until I reviewed it on my computer screen.

Crossing The Bridge
We were blessed with some gorgeous spring weather last week, where temperatures went up into the 70s and 80s. Over the weekend, we took our son to Naperville downtown. The sun was shining, and as we walked through one of the wooden bridges there, I figured that a wide angle shot might look interesting. Key though was to make sure no one was in my frame, so I patiently waited for the right moment.
