Ready To Go

Soho, New York

As Time Goes By
Taken from a median on Michigan Avenue.  It was a very busy day, with lots & lots people walking on the streets.  And yet it is not something immediately noticeable looking at this image.  It is precisely this ability to make crowds disappear one of the things I love about long exposure photography.

900 North
Entrance to the Temple of Retail Therapy.  Or something like it.  The indoor mall at 900 North Michigan Avenue actually houses one of our favorite chocolate shops: Teuscher Chocolates.  Their chocolate truffles (the champagne truffle in particular, made with Dom Perignon) are so divine that it has managed to convert some of my previously non-chocolate eating friends.  Yep, it is that good.
Somewhat annoyingly though, when I last visited the mall this past weekend, we overheard the security guard tell someone that photography is not allowed.  I have also been told this at other malls, which annoyed the heck out of me.  Reasons given to me include security concerns and the need to prevent espionage (which is the lamest reason I have ever heard).
