Guiding The Light
Fullerton Beach, Chicago, IL
Recently I received a rather nondescript piece of mail.  What appeared to be another piece of junk mail was actually a check from Fine Art America, for a photograph that I had apparently sold!  Someone had bought a 30x20 metal print of a long exposure shot taken at this very same spot.  Up to that point, I had completely neglected my Fine Art America page.

Morning Sunshine
Griffith Observatory, Los Angeles, CA
One of the best things about sunrise photography is the drive back.  Just as you are ready to go, the city slowly wakes up.

Rising Angels
Griffith Observatory, Los Angeles, CA
I was pleasantly surprised that my brothers willingly (meaning, no bribing required :)) accompanied me to see and photograph the sunrise from the observatory.  Given that I had not seen them in years, it was a wonderful bonding experience.

Electric City
Chicago, IL
We seem to be going back to Chicago every few weeks, either to take care of errands, meet up with friends, or just to enjoy the city life.  The 2.5 hour drive no longer intimidate us, and I don’t mind traveling back and forth in a day.

Sunset By The River
The Milwaukee River that is.  Last weekend, I attended a photowalk in downtown Milwaukee.  I was surprised by how strong the attendance was, as well over a dozen people went.  There were not many people strolling the streets, however, despite the unseasonably warm weather.  Perhaps everyone was hanging out by the lake.

Rising To The Occasion
Navy Pier, Chicago, IL.
Taken above the parking lot.  I was not certain if it was open that early in the morning, but I overcame the fear of getting caught as I did not want to lose the opportunity to shoot the Chicago skyline from the Pier.

As A New Day Welcomes Us
Taken during one of my final weekends in Chicago.
To my surprise, I’m not feeling totally devastated about no longer living in an urban area.  So far I’m enjoying the outdoors and exploring my new surroundings.  It can be pretty inconvenient though, as we drove close to an hour today to get to the nearest Trader Joe’s.

In The Blink Of An Eye
Every time I drive by the downtown area on 90/94, I have always wondered how awesome it would be if I could photograph the skyline from one of the bridges that span across the expressway.  One night I did have the chance to check it out.
Sadly, the photographs taken at that spot were not impressive as I thought they would be.  But I guess with photography, you’ll never know unless you try it out.

Sunset By The River
I love photographing sunrises and sunsets.  Too bad I too often forget to bring my camera with.
